The Problem
The global housing crisis has reached unprecedented levels, with more than 1.6 billion people currently lacking adequate shelter or living in unsafe conditions. Rapid urbanisation, population growth, and climate-related displacement have overwhelmed traditional construction models, which rely heavily on carbon-intensive materials like steel and concrete. As a result, housing shortages are deepening while the building industry remains one of the largest contributors to global emissions. The need for affordable, sustainable, and regenerative housing has never been more urgent.
Currently, housing solutions are designed and implemented by the global North. Unfortunately, these solutions are not aligned or suitable for the global south.
Solutions that use renewable materials, such as bamboo, not only reduce environmental impact but also create local economic opportunities, empower communities, and build resilient homes that work with the planet rather than against it.
The Solution
The solution lies in transforming how we build by embracing sustainable materials, circular design, and local empowerment. Bamboo, one of the fastest-growing renewable resources on Earth, offers a practical and scalable alternative to traditional construction materials. When paired with innovative engineering, such as the patented connector node system, bamboo can be used to create strong, safe, and affordable housing and structures.
This approach drastically reduces carbon emissions, shortens construction times, and lowers costs, while enabling local manufacturing and community-led building. By integrating modern design principles with natural materials, we can deliver housing that is not only environmentally responsible but also adaptable to regional needs — a true pathway to solving the housing crisis sustainably and equitably.

Node Company
About us
Node Company provides engineered connector node systems for bamboo construction, enabling local communities and industries to build affordable, sustainable, and resilient structures. The business serves NGOs, developers, and governments seeking low-carbon housing solutions.
Mission
Our mission is to revolutionise sustainable construction by providing a patented connector node system that unlocks the full potential of bamboo as a global building material. We are creating the tools for affordable, resilient, and regenerative housing, empowering communities while reducing the carbon footprint of construction. The importance of our work is already evident and live with the construction of 10 prototype houses in Nicaragua..
Vision
A world where bamboo construction is standardised, accessible, and regenerative.
What we are
good at
Whilst Node Company is predominantly a sales and manufacturing company, our roots and ethos run much deeper. We are heavily invested in creating connections within the bamboo world. Our lead engineer Neil Thomas has been working alongside construction industry giants and government bodies in Indonesia, advising on climate change, deforestation and the benefits that bamboo provide as a future building material and as a regeneration and rewilding asset.
Our commitment to education is also at the heart of what we do as a company, including empowering communities across bamboo growing regions with our brand partners KuNa.
We also have a huge database of world bamboo leaders across a wide range of industries, that Node Company has compiled over many years. You can access BAMBOO PEOPLE by becoming a site member (Insert link )
We are active in attending many global summits and are excited to announce our sponsorship, support and collaboration in WORLD BAMBOO EXPO - BALI 2026. (Link to their site)
